Dining

Yuriba boasts a number of specialty restaurants and options for those looking for a pleasant dining experience. At present, most dining options are free, so the main limitation is what sort of experiences one is looking for. In alphabetical order, the options are:

Contents

The Baby Seal

A quirky, dive style bar, The Baby Seal is best known for it's grumpy waitress Mabel, and for the odd names of the food. Still, the fare while simple is well suited in particular for lunch. Like most restaurants, The Baby Seal serves several options for those seeking alcoholic refreshment, but unlike most others, it has a strict policy of not providing intoxicants to anyone under the age of 18.

Cacao Heaven

Not really a restaurant, the Cacao Heaven is a small specialty shop that carries a small assortment of various chocolate based treats. It's probably more infamous for the rather peculiar bathing establishments, and isn't suited for meals.

Crimson Rose & Sword

Part of a larger inn, the Crimson Rose and Sword offers a variety of food and drink, generally based in American style cooking. The atmosphere is communal and open, and the restaurant is also famous for hosting the yearly Silent Auction.

Dragon's Brew

The Dragon's Brew is a small, intimate coffee shop located in the northern half of the village. One of the more popular establishments, it's often used as a retreat from the cold in winter, and offers a wide selection of coffees and teas, along with a few other beverages, desserts, sandwiches, and soup.

Four Seasons Cookhouse

The Four Seasons Cookhouse specializes in native Yuriban foods using all local ingredients and cooking techniques. Its location is a bit of a trek, requiring the diner to travel to the Apex Inn in the foothills.

Hong Fu Long

Specializing in spicy food to sear the palate, Hong Fu Long can be found in the far southwestern corner of the village.

Leona's Bar & Girl

Leona's Bar and Girl is a low-key, tavern style establishment, primarily aimed at those seeking a drink in the company of good friends. Most of the bartenders are skilled enough to mix up most anything that comes to mind, and a variety of quality beers are available on tap. Simple sandwiches and other food are sometimes available if a server is handy who can safely be allowed in a kitchen, but it's best not to rely on such.

New Moon Eatery

Serving a wide variety of Chinese cuisine, the New Moon Eatery is a good option for picky eaters or those that like variety. They also provide take out service of the entire menu, catering to diners on the go. While not a major location for drinkers, the restaurant does offer particularly romantic scenery for those on a date.

The Ocean Lily

Located on the smaller linked island of Maboroshi, the Ocean Lily is a long standing Yuriban establishment that serves a variety of excellent, freshly caught seafood, prepared in front of the customer. Beverage selection here is a bit limited, primarily an assortment of different wines.

Sleepyfox Bakery

The Sleepyfox Bakery is located on the site of the former Riverside Bakery on Spruce Lane in the Yuriba Forest. It was opened by Rockpath after the previous bakery shut down. It offers a variety of baked goods including bread, donuts, muffins, and cookies as well as drinks to wash it down.

The Snacky Shack

The Snacky Shack is part of the Hurricane Skate Rink which is located in Maboroshi on Sea Lily Circle. The Snacky Shack offers various food choices from pizza, burgers, fries, tea, soda, even ice cream. Kenina runs the establishment, and takes great joy in her selection of hot chocolates.

Sombreuil Community Center Buffet

A fairly simple set up, the Sombreuil Community Center contains a buffet hall that offers a small selection of hot dining options, salad fixings, desserts, coffee, and hot chocolate. Located in a fairly isolated area, it's rarely crowded, but does see surges of visitors during holiday celebrations.

Squeezies

A juice and smoothie establishment that also offers granola and fruit, Squeezies is run by Naran and located in the northwestern corner of the main village.

Wild Hare Inn

Another eatery that is part of a larger complex, the Wild Hare Inn is Yuriba's premiere (and admittedly only, but we're sure it would be anyway) sushi restaurant. In addition to the sushi, the desserts and drinks are almost all Japanese in style as well, as is the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.

Former Dining Establishments

Included here are establishments that no longer are in business. In alphabetical order:

Riverside Bakery

The Bakery was located on Spruce Lane in the Yuriba Forest and run by Cinnamon. It offered a variety of baked good and even sported an extensive kitchen where residents could come to do baking themselves. It was closed in early 2014 but remodeled and reopened as the Sleepyfox Bakery by Rockpath.

The Tail Club

1950s style dinner food was the focus on The Tail Club. This was the only eatery to charge for its food, although prices were still quite low. The cook, Miki, was a friendly tanuki, and the club was designed to cater to demihumans and those who support them. Currently the business is closed and no longer exists on the island, making way most likely for some other resident to try a business venture.
