Riverside Bakery
Renovated from an old mill along the Yuriba River, the Riverside Bakery served Yuriba until it closed in early 2014. It was located in Yuriba Forest, five blocks North of the Village Center on Spruce Lane. Since its doors were shuttered, the infrastructure was taken over and used by the new Sleepyfox Bakery run by Rockpath.
The Bakery was run by Cinnamon with the help of the waitresses , Ingrid and Noira, as well as part time assistant, Nelaeryn. It provided a changing variety of baked goods but kept constant favorites such as Cookies, Muffins, and Breads year round.
The bakery provided catering and special orders on request, and was always willing to add customer favorites to the menu.

Winter 2009
Nelaeryn was added to the staff as the official taste tester for new recipes and bakery assistant.
Fall 2010
In preparation for the Fall Food Festival, the bakery storefront was slightly revised and upgraded and the menu changed to include only Cookies and a small selection of Drinks. The menu was continually expanded again from that point onward.
The Riverside Bakery won 3rd Place in the Fall Food Festival cooking contest with it's entry, a Sun Berry and Orange Trifle Crisp.
Spring 2011
The Riverside Bakery won the cake decorating contest due to being the only entry, so Cinnamon decided to forfeit her entry out of embarrassment.
August 2011
The Riverside Bakery provided a Slot Machine booth for the Summer Matsuri, distributing limited edition keychains that featured one of three designs: A muffin, a cookie, or a taiyaki, and had a special compass locator on the back that pointed out the shortest path to the bakery.
September 2011
The bakery declares it to be Bread Month and celebrates with BreadFest - a festival where the menu was switched to only a selection of the breads that were newly added in the middle of the month. Also, as part of the celebration a new waitress, Noira was introduced.
Bakery Residents
- Cinnamon : the owner and chief baker. She usually goes by the name Cindy to avoid being confused with the spice. She has an irrational fear of bears.
- Ingrid : Daytime waitress and assistant baker. She's there to serve people while the sun is up. She often criticizes Cinnamon for being lazy and forcing her to do all the work. Ingrid is in charge of taking care of Ursie.
- Noira : The most recent addition to the staff. She is the nighttime waitress and is very unenthusiastic and often apathetic and depressed, feeling that she is overworked despite doing very little. She is quite artistically inclined, though it would be hard to tell with her attitude.
- Ursie : A harvest bear cub. Ingrid is technically the one who owns and takes care of Ursie. Due to Cinnamon's intense fear of bears, Ingrid has convinced her that Ursie is a Old English Sheepdog mixed breed. Noira doesn't bother to disguise the fact that Ursie is a bear, much to Ingrid's frustration, but somehow Cinnamon doesn't pay much attention to Noira's words. Despite being a bear, Ursie is mostly harmless and spends much of her time wandering around the first floor of the bakery looking for crumbs dropped on the floor.
- Nelaeryn : Nelaeryn is technically the official taste tester for the bakery as well as a delivery girl and general assistant. She's sometimes a resident, but much less frequently than in the past due to her busy schedule and the distance from her cabin to the bakery.
Building Layout
The original plans of the mill are shown in this floorplan [1]. The cellar area and the stairway from there to the kitchen were not accessible. There was a small yard between Spruce Lane and the Bakery Entrance.
The bakery was unusual in that it has electrical power, generated off the energy from mill's water wheel.
The building contained three publicly accessible rooms:
- Bakery Shop : Located on the ground floor, it was where one enters the building. This was where baked goods can be ordered. Stairs from here led up to an overlooking balcony, and doors behind the counter led to the kitchen.
- Bakery Kitchen : The kitchen was connected only to the Bakery Shop. A staircase used to connect it to the cellar, but it was in such bad state of repair that it was not usable. The Bakery Kitchen contained a stone oven as well as more modern conveniences, including an electric powered oven and range. This area could be used by guests of the bakery to do some cooking of their own, but mostly served the needs of the bakery itself.
- Balcony : Overlooking the Bakery Shop was a small balcony. A single table on the balcony provided the only seating for bakery customers. Stairs from here led down to the Bakery Shop. A door from here led to the Bakery Loft.
The Bakery Loft served both as a store room and as the private residence of Cinnamon, the owner of the bakery.
Because the balcony and shop were connected, conversation could be overheard from one to the other.
It was possible to "look up" to from the Bakery Shop and see the Balcony. It was also possible to "look down" from the balcony to the shop.
An old style clock with numbers in roman numerals was located on the back wall of the balcony.
The Riverside Mill area had it's own map.
