Yuriban House Cat

Unlike the wild Yuriban Mast Cat, which lives wild and feral on the island proper, the Yuriban House Cat is a species of felis domesticus particular to the Yuriban Underhill, likely imported millenia ago by traders. The Yuriban cat tends to be slightly smaller than other house cats, averaging between six and fourteen pounds. Long and short haired varieties are both known, as are a wide variety of colors of coat patterns. While the common eye colors are gold, bright green, and pale blue, many Yuriban House Cats have eyes that glow faintly when the cat is startled or agitated, believed to be a mutation brought about by living in such a high magic area. In addition to being favored overall by Zansho, completely white furred cats are considered sacred to Fuyuzora and are often given to her priestesses or temples as a gift or offering for the goddess's favors.
