Yuriba Park
Yuriba Park is located just northeast of the Riverview Apartments, just off of Sand Lily Road. Originally under the care of the dragoness Atara, it passed into the jurisdiction of the Town Council after she disappeared from the island, though with her reappearance, she seems to be tending to it again. The park has largely been kept static under their control as it is designed to be a public facility.
A variety of different scenic areas can be found inside the park. A little walking can lead a visitor to the beautiful Yuriba Lake, a pleasant garden that invites relaxation, a playground for younger children, or a lake-front bandstand for special events, while an oak and cherry tree lined pathway leads to a private little fountain. The park remains a fairly popular spot for quiet discussion or to enjoy nature in a more controlled setting than the rather more wild Yuriba Forest. The bandstand also is a fairly popular spot for outdoor weddings in the summertime, especially with the slight Victorian style to its design. Recent changes to the pathways have opened up a walking route to the Northern and Eastern branches of the Rampart River, a recently built bridge giving access to the areas north of the lake. Many squirrel and sparrows make their home within the park, and a healthy population of ducks live along the lake. Notably, the park seems to be home to one pair of the elusive Lucent Swan, while along the mouth of the Rampart River one can find the northern most population of Piper Bird.
As the only easily accessed portion of the lake, the park is the best way to reach the home of breisleach, the Woodland Retreat, which is located on a small island in the middle of the lake.
