Vault 85
Located in the foothills of the island, Vault 85 is a subterranean series of chambers which function as a residence, library, and disaster shelter. During the Eruption of 2012 it was one of the primary shelters for residents to take refuge in from various threats. Current residents include Cecily, Tanya, Abegweit, and the wyverns Narges and Barica. Those wishing to browse the book collection are encouraged to give notice to Cecily of their intentions for a brief orientation.

History
Earth
The Vaults were prototyped and created by a company called Vault-Tec, advertised as impenetrable fallout shelters with the looming threat of a nuclear apocalypse. In truth, the shelters were too few and far between to have a serious impact on the planet's population in the event of a nuclear holocaust and were built with a series of social experiments in mind on controlled test subject groups. Fortunately, the apocalypse never came, and the Vaults that had been built were auctioned off to several parties, government agencies, and private collectors. Cecily's parents were the recipients of one such Vault via lottery.
During Cecily's 'construction', the Vault was altered and fitted with several pieces of experimental technology, the Chaos Engine that fuels Cecily being among those items. After the woman's 'birth', she spent some time getting acclimated to the Vault and its tools before using the Engine to cross-dimensional travel and explore the other worlds out there.
Early Yuriba
The Vault's initial arrival on Yuriba left it somewhat detached from the normalspace around the island, primarily due to Yuriba's technology-repelling nature and the entirely technological construction of the Vault. Eventually it would 'settle' enough over the course of several years to where the habitat itself was able to sync with the island and its surroundings enough to be a part of the terrain. Due to the size of the Vault it was forced to be situated off shore and under the ocean, surrounded by tons of rock and even more tons of seawater besides, transit to and from the island itself limited to Cecily herself or individuals 'connected' to her, making it no better than the Vault being outside of Yuriba's normalspace anyway. Visitors, especially those with direct ties to the island, found it difficult or impossible to visit Cecily at home.
Present
Eventually, after becoming much more familiar with the locals and making a number of acquaintances and friends, Cecily was able to dismantle the majority of the Vault and condense them, storing the components in stasis while she sought out a new site and made new blueprints. With help, Vault 85 found a new home in the foothills, the remnants of a once-proud ranch house having little to show other than a stone foundation and an overgrown orchard. The storm cellar was dug deep and the Vault's rooms re-arranged and filled out in a non-intrusive manner, most of the tech recycled and repurposed for more conventional items, the kitchen's appliances being a prime example of this. Underground springs and geothermal taps are utilized to a small extent, but the Vault itself is now a fraction of its original size and much less intrusive to the environent.
Rooms
Surface
An overgrown forest clearing makes up the surface access of the Vault, the remnants of the ranch house just an old basement full of mud and cracked stone, all of the wood rotted away and reclaimed by the elements. A citrus orchard that was the back yard is wild and provides ample fruit yearly. The descent into the Vault itself is a deceptively welcoming pair of wood shutters, though the stairs down is safe and can be secured in a number of ways.
Atrium
The Atrium is the main living area of the Vault, a garden of herbs and tea plants separating the door from the comfortable areas, the high ceiling opening up to the sky with a series of thick and sturdy quartz skylights. Sitting areas and a kitchen with wood-burning appliances make the 'cave' seem much more at home than the formerly metal-walled chamber, the open concept giving a modern touch.
Living Quarters
A handful of rooms are connected directly to the Atrium. One of which being a guest room full of carpets and tapestries, the carved stone looking more like the interior of a nomad's tent, comfortable. A bedroom/reading room belongs to Abegweit, while what would once have been the Overseer's Quarters in the Vault is done up as the master bedroom. Attached is a large underground hot spring.
Library
The library of Vault 85 is directly attached to the Chaos Engine, giving it a few anomalous qualities. This, coupled with the vast amount of books (which makes the vault home of one of the largest--if more disorganized--private collections of books on the island) makes reality bend slightly askew within it. Shelves move, lanterns drift up and down the building-height bookcases of their own accord, and the skylights showcase shifting starscapes that would make Carl Sagan weep. Some say that the deepest depths of the library can lead to other places on the island...
