Sior is a native Yuriban kitsune who has lived the vast majority of her life in the Underhill region of the island. She is a cryptic and mischievous woman with an affinity for riddles. Due to certain circumstances in her past she holds a dual priesthood, dedicated to both Tenteisei and Zokutou, though her affinity appears to lean towards the latter.

She lived on the main island for several months before returning to Underhill.

Personality

In many ways Sior is a very typical kitsune, playful and mischievous in her demeanor and given to lighthearted teasing between friends and acquaintances. She is fairly cynical much of the time and is somewhat talkative, though far from flamboyant. Her attitudes are often quite sensual, though she seems to be the type to tease rather than act. As a devotee of Zokutou she has a great fondness for cryptic speech and occasionally speaks in koans or obscure language, delighting in confusing people, particularly foreigners. In certain other respects, however, she is somewhat atypical; she is fastidious and has few feral impulses, preferring to cook her food rather than hunt it down and to sleep indoors rather than exposed to the weather.

Sior is known to have issues with the introduction of foreigners into the Yuriban faith. She believes that it is impossible for an outsider to truly understand Yuriba without a lifetime of journey and is resentful of new initiates who claim to know everything about their goddess of choice. Like most natives, she is disturbed by the male gender. Accordingly, she views most outsiders as artifacts of a deeply perverted society.

History

Little of Sior's past is known to most. She spent most of her time in Underhill and eventually entered into training to become a priestess of Zokutou, but at the age of five hundred she manifested the power of clairvoyance. As per kitsune custom she entered into the service of Tenteisei, albeit over her objections.

In early 2007 she finally ventured out from Underhill and promptly resumed her old relationship with breisleach; the two once again became lovers. Though she proved and has still proven to be somewhat elusive in the village, she came to encounter many of those in breisleach's circle, among them Hokuto Sumeragi and Kashiri Watanabe. She later came to know Seishi Sakurazuka and appeared to have developed an odd, mistrustful attraction to her, but after finding out that the woman assaulted members of breisleach's extended family and after engaging her in a venomous argument through her familiar within Inishie-san, her feelings degenerated to a more hateful mistrust.

During the weeks of February and March Sior was a somewhat rare sight, as she tended to seclude herself away from the world, overcome as she was by apocalyptic visions sent by Tenteisei. Eventually, however, she joined breisleach on the eve of the cataclysm and gave her what aid she could. With breisleach incapacitated Sior remained constantly by her side, watching over her recovery and to some extent aiding in what duties she could.

She stuck with breisleach through the mess of relationship turmoil in the older woman's life. Her frustrations with Hokuto and Kashiri rapidly built following an incident in which a crying Hokuto came to she and breisleach lamenting about Kashiri's emotional state, only for Kashiri to fall into lunacy, nearly kicking Sior into a wall in the process. Nevertheless she seemed to have let the incident slide to some extent and grudgingly came to accept Kashiri's role in breisleach's life, though mostly "for the sake of my fox," as she puts it. She also began to reach out to the resident immigrant population, though her efforts largely proved frustrating.

Nevertheless she did meet with some success; she has recently struck up a relationship with the newly-returned Thalamasa, a meeting which some have called the Love Affair from Hell. Though they initially met in passing at Leona's, with Sior criticizing Thal's attire of choice, they stumbled into mutual affection after a few more meetings and a long coffee-shop conversation, agreeing to give a relationship a try. She began to make more regular appearances in public. Beyond her relationship with Thal she seemed to be under a bit of stress, though it passed fairly quickly. She once more encountered Merin and found herself on the receiving end of the fae's pranks; the two old friends from under the hill rekindled their friendship quickly, though Sior herself seems to have her eye on something a little more intimate.

She became involved with a building project undertaken by Lyra, whom she befriended. Though the emotional turmoil in breisleach's love life touched her she more or less kept her distance from the worst of it, knowing that to plunge headfirst into such issues when she wasn't involved in the first place would only hurt breisleach all the more. She struck up a relationship with Merin, the two setting out on an intimate footing after a fairly brief courtship. Shortly thereafter she stepped out of breisleach's love life entirely, the two having changed enough that the past couldn't translate cleanly, though she still considers the woman her dearest friend.

She crossed paths with a young immigrant woman named Rho. The two hit it off quickly thanks to a mutual tendency towards teasing flirtation, becoming friends practically on sight. She saw the skydiver as someone very much in tune with her own worldview and took to introducing her to the fundamentals of Yuriban life. The two toyed with a relationship; however, Sior departed Yuriba shortly thereafter, leaving her friends behind to dedicate herself more fully to Zokutou's service. It's doubtful that she'll return to Yuriba.
