Salix is a dryad of a black willow tree, approximately twenty two years of age. She's native to Yuriba, recently come to the village from Underhill.

Physical Description
Salix has the build of an acrobatic athlete, her form slim and fitting for one of her kind. She's fairly short, and a bit self conscious of this. Her coloration echoes that of her tree, dark brown skin of varying hues, dark green hair with lighter green streaks that emulate leaf patterns, and a few actual leaves which hang from a viney strand at each of her temples. Her hobbies lead her to have somewhat rougher hands, and a bit more physical definition of muscles in her arms.
Her wardrobe is varied, but 'modern', at least modern by Underhill standards, taking inspiration from styles brought in by immigrants to the village.
Personality
First meeting with Salix may give the impression that she's very shy and withdrawn, stronger personalities tending to send her more withdrawn into herself. She responds well to kindness, and though will initially be wary, especially if she's alone and not with someone she knows well, she can be easily brought out of her shell if she 'clicks' with someone. Regardless of her shyness, she'll be polite to someone even if she's shy of them, for her to be flat out rude to someone requires a very, very bad first impression such as coming across someone injuring a tree.
Seasons tend to affect her personality in subtle ways; the winter finds her more withdrawn and quiet, more prone to being shy for longer periods of time with a new person than she might be otherwise, more meek and yielding. The summer will find her more outgoing and confident, her initial shyness with someone dissipating more quickly, and she's a bit more bold and assertive.
Fairly set in her opinions, Salix will argue them if she needs to, but she's not confrontational, and will more often simply wander away or not speak rather than continue to argue with someone.
Biography
Early Life
Born into a grove of black willows at the edge of a tepid water marsh near to a fairly large body of sea water, Salix found herself more often on the shores of the sea than within the trees, her curiosity drawing her off and away from the grove and more into the hills. Traveling within the hills of Underhill and encounters with a few oreads lead her to an interest working with metals, digging deeper into the earth than her natural knack for herbalisim would lead her to. Trained as a jeweler initially, she searched for a specific oread named Kaith to teach her broader methods of metalworking, leading her to a fair degree of skill with everything from jewelry to armor making, Salix specifically avoiding weaponmaking beyond speartips and fishing hooks.
After a brief relationship with her mentor, Salix returned more to the marsh and grove near the sea, resuming friendships easily with the other dryads of her grove, and the naiads which lived nearby in the river and the sea. It wasn't too long after this that she met the naiad Cove and her partner, striking up a friendship and soon a close relationship with the two women.
Yuriba
A recent arrival in the village, Salix traveled to the village with the naiad, the pair coming alone and seemingly rather abruptly. She's a bit closedlipped about their reasons for having traveled to the village, though there's a hint of some sort of emotional pain that drove them there.
Relationships
Currently tied closely to Cove, she's fairly dedicated to the woman, but she's also rather open in a relationship sense, identifying as polyamorous like most other dryads. So new to the island, she's met very few, but has a fondness for the also newcomer Ninaeth, and has a wary uncertainty for Irina.
