Saber is a young woman of English descent. Very little is known of her past, but she is usually willing to share such information with those who show interest. Her upbringing appears to have been that of some kind of nobility, as she holds morals, the respect and well-being of others in the highest regard. She speaks in a slightly archaic manner, shows an incredible amount of chivalry, and is genuinely kind to those she meets.

Physical Description
The way Saber stands and carries herself as she moves would suggest a kind of maturity well beyond her years. Her blonde hair is kept rather neat, and is tied into a long braid. The braid is then wound into a circle on the back of her head and tied in a bow with a long, blue ribbon to keep it secure. A few strands of hair fall off to the side of her face, between her eyes and ears, though they don't stray any further than her upper cheeks. With her hair worn down, it doesn't stray anymore than an couple of inches past her shoulders. Her face is full of youth, though her determined and serious expression betray the delicate features she possesses. Her eyes are a blueish-green, the same color as the ocean and share their depth. Her nose is rather small and slightly upturned, and her mouth is almost constantly pulled into a muted frown. It's not hard to get her to smile, however. Her physique is rather athletic, but by no means TOO masculine. Her body has all the curves a lady her age ought to possess, though it seems she's lacking a bit in her hips.
General Personality
Saber's personality, first and foremost, is chivalrous and polite. She rarely fails to greet someone while walking about, usually accompanied with a nod or light bow. She holds other who return her politeness in high regard and is easily approached for conversation. On the other hand, those who are rude or those who pick on others will find themselves being held in contempt. Unless they apologize, of course.
History
Original Life
Saber is not at all who or what she seems. She was born to Uther Pendragon and his wife Igraine, and is the inspiration for the legends of King Arthur. At her birth, her father judges that the people of Britain will not accept a woman as the sole heir. When Arturia is only a year old, she is entrusted to Merlin and Sir Ector. Merlin educates her in all areas of learning, including writing and literature, both of which she still enjoys. Sir Ector, along with Sir Bedivere, taught her how to use a sword and ride horses, among other things. To put it plainly, she was raised a boy, to better prepare her for the eventual ascension to the throne. When she was 15, Uther died, leaving no apparent heir to the throne. With the threat of Saxon invasion, Merlin quickly appealed to Arturia, telling her that if she were to draw the ceremonial sword Caliburn, from a large slab of rock, she would be recognized as England's sovereign ruler. However, by doing this, she would be sacrificing her own freedoms and her very existence for her country. Arturia withdraws the sword, is given the name Arthur, and becomes King of England. After Caliburn is broken, Arturia receives the sword Excalibur and its sheath, Avalon, from Vivaine, the Lady of the Lake. With Excalibur, Arturia leads campaign after successful campaign against the Saxons, defending her country from every attack. With Avalon, she never ages and is neigh immortal in battle.
However, she is constantly plagued with feelings of inferiority, criticized as a distant and emotionless ruler who only cares for protecting the land and not the people living on it. Hounded by these thoughts, she continues to defend her people, even after losing Avalon to thieves. Unbeknownst to her, Arturia's half-sister Morgaine, who hates her for stealing what should otherwise be her throne, manages to collect some of Arturia's blood. Using herself as a surrogate, she gives birth to a homunuculus, whom she names Mordred. Mordred and Morgaine then begin to sow seeds of unrest among Arturia's kingdom, many of her lords defecting to their side. When Arturia and the Knights of the Round Table return, they confront the traitor by the banks of the Camlann river and do battle. Though Arturia manages to kill Mordred, she is mortally wounded in kind. Without Avalon, she quickly feels herself slipping into Death's grasp. Before she breathes her last, Galahad returns to England with the Holy Grail. Arturia swears upon the chalice, asking for a chance to redo her life in exchange for her mortal soul..
Modern Day/Yuriba
The Holy Grail Wars. Summoned by magicians, great heroes from both the past, present, and future are called forth to do battle. The battles are held to determine who is suitable to be the grail's bearer. The victor is also granted a wish. Having sworn herself to the Grail, Arturia is now Saber, a servant who is summoned by powerful magicians in the Holy Grail Wars. During the third war, the contents of the grail are tainted by evil and Arturia, summoned in the fourth war to determine the Grail's new bearer, destroys it with Excalibur instead of drinking from it, which would have granted her wish. The fourth war ends in a stalemate. In the Fifth War, she is summoned by a young man who is only an apprentice magician. Originally frustrated with his attempts to protect others over himself, she quickly realizes that he shares the same virtues with her. Slowly, she began to realize that wishing for her life to be redone was foolishness, a cowardly escape from her destiny. Arturia slowly begins to fall in love with the young man who summoned her. Though the feelings are mutual, they both realize that only the Grail's physical form was destroyed, the evil within still having survived. After a long, hard fight, Arturia and her master, Shirou, destroy the Grail completely. Arturia then returns to her own time, just moments prior to her death. This time, with her last breath, she wishes she could be with the man she fell in love with. But rather than sleeping eternally, she wakes, finding herself on the shores of Yuriba.
After arriving, she has made a few acquaintances, a few of the most notable being Tal'set, who respects Saber's knightly manner and her views regarding combat. She's also been seen hanging around the other students and members of Tal'set and Beta's dojo. She has also been seen frequently hanging around with another woman named Ailith, with whom she is developing a rather serious relationship. However, since her return to the island, this relationship seems to have been mututally broken off, reverting into more of a friendship than anything romantic. A few others she's been seen around lately are the Kitsune Yumiko, the shrine maiden Asuna_Asagiri, and Kitten, Yumiko's pupil in the art of swordfighting. However, following her narrowly won duel against Yumiko, their relationship seems to have grown much closer. It's not uncommon to see the Kitsune teasing Saber in public, as Saber herself still isn't quite used to the open displays of affection commonly seen in Yuriba. Saber also made friends with Rylia and often visits her cabin. As of late 2008 and early 2009, Saber's partner seems to have left Yuriba for good. Somewhat distraught, and after some advice from a friend, she's decided to move on in terms of relationships.
Mana
Saber's magical energy source. If one was to be more literal about it, she uses natural energy. Seeing as how Yuriba has a rather large nexus (or a grouping of them) around or beneath it, it serves as an idea place for her to regain her strength. However, she is no longer a Servant and her corporeal human form is only able to absorb so much mana each day, forcing her to ration its use greatly. As of now, she's only able to access a mere fraction of her total supply. Depleting this supply means entering a catatonic state at best, and death at worst.
Swordsmanship
Having been raised not just as a male for most of her life, but as a Squire, training in various Medieval skills was not just expected, but mandatory to ascend to Knighthood. Archery, horsemanship, and various other nessecary skills were worked upon once she was old enough to handle the tools. Foremost of these was the use of a blade, and she trained daily in the use of a standard English longsword. These weapons were typically three feet long at most, and could weigh anywhere from ten to twenty pounds, depending on the length and breadth of the blade. Her coronation as king did not cause her to allow these skills to degenerate, either. When she was able, training was a constant method of keeping both her mind and body in optimal shape. And, coupled with the fact that after her taking the throne, she fought at least one major battle every year of her life from her fifteenth year onward, until her death at the Battle of Camlann at the age of 27. When Caliburn, the sword she pulled from the stone was broken, she gained Excalibur as a replacement. This required a shift in her training, as Excalibur was a different kind of blade, known as a Greatsword. This blade was a perfect 4 feet long from the crossguard to the tip, and the grip a foot long. At first, it required her to use two hands to lift and swing. However, after nearly a decade of weilding, using one hand to use the weapon not only in an effective manner, but with an advanced level of skill, made her style of swordplay all her own. Coupled with Excalibur's innate magical properties, as well as Avalon's protection, it was not all that surprising to see Arturia leading her men into battle at the head of the charge, as opposed to surveying it from afar. These qualities certainly stuck in the minds of both friend and foe, who would often liken her to her namesake, a dragon.
Magical Items
Excalibur
Forged by Vivaine, the Lady of the Lake. Originally called Caledfwlch in Welsh legend, the blade itself never needs sharpening and will never break, no matter the stresses applied. It was given to Arturia after her original sword, Caliburn, was broken after she committed an unchivalrous act in battle. Using her full power, the sword glows with a golden light when swung.
Avalon
Excalibur's sheath, also given to Arturia along with her sword. Mere possession of it grants the holder the ability to regenerate small wounds near instantly. Larger wounds take time to recover from, but the speed of recovery is greatly increased. Avalon can also protect the user from outside magical forces by attempting to negate them.
Departure and Return
Saber left Yuriba in mid-April of 2007, a rather unannounced event to those she knew. Where she spent her time during those two weeks is not known at this point, but she has returned again nonetheless. She left yet again in early April of 2008 but has returned from that trip as well.
