Editing overwrites
The second is less a guideline, and more a practice that we ask you to do. Copy and paste the entry source to a text editor, such as Notepad, Textpad, or, if you are so inclined, eMacs or VI. Edit, or write your entry there, then refresh the entry's page, to ensure that no one else has previously editted the entry in the meantime.
Actually, assuming this is the same codebase as Wikipedia, this isn't necessary: this situation is detected and accounted for. An error page will appear, with your submitted text in one textbox and the most recent version of the page in another. --Sparta (talk) 05:01, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
OOC or IC
We might need a way to better emphasize that all info here is _IC only_, as that's one of the most common 'mistakes' I'm seeing on new pages, along with a lack of standard wikification. Probably should also put a link to the style guide on Wikipedia here. --breisleach 20:47, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Style Guide
The wikia tutorial doesn't seem to include a wiki style guide, which is one of the most common 'errors' I see here - I think we should probably go ahead and include a link to the main wikipedia one in the Guidelines. --breisleach 05:13, 1 December 2006 (UTC) (Yeah, I know, I said this earlier too, but.)
Style page is a good idea.
I also am pretty much ignorant of proper wikification or even how to set the page up.
