Despite — or perhaps even because of — Yuriba's decidedly magical nature, many of Yuriba's residents appear to be scientifically and technologically advanced beyond the surrounding world. Much of the mundane science used by Yuribans is integrated at least weakly with magic: most Yuribans who require or desire electricity get it from household generators that run off of local ley lines, rather than from a standard power grid.

Many practitioners of arcane magic consider the study of magic, known as thaumatology, to be a science as well.
