A half-kitsune of partial native descent, Caileadair returned to Yuriba after growing up elsewhere. Still in her effective teenage years, she's a fairly vivacious, if slightly shy, girl. She lives in a restored ancient cabin on the far side of an orchard on the northwestern portion of the settled areas of the island.
Personality
While new people can make her a bit nervous due to experiences prior to the island, Caile is generally a fairly friendly, high spirited person. Tending towards being a bit flirty, she's also very inquisitive, loving to learn more about people and where they come from. She has a definite weakness for creature comforts like fine food, fine wine, and fine women, although she's perfectly content with less - she just tends to savor good things when she has a chance. By and large, she believes in indulging vices (more or less in moderation...), making friends, and opportunities to learn as the things that make life good. Stubbornly optimistic by nature, Caileadair is prone towards gentle teasing and flirting with those she's at all close to. By and large, it's rare to encounter her without at least a bit of a smile on her face.
It's only very rarely that she shows temporary flashes of hesitancy and nervousness; she has occasionally hinted that her past was sometimes tumultuous. Fairly resilient by nature, she seems to not have been significantly damaged by it. Instead, if anything, it's given her the ability to handle distressing situations relatively calmly and compassionately.
Relationships
While she's breisleach's daughter, Caile was raised apart from the kitsune, and while they've developed a familial bond, it's still a bit strained. In terms of her local 'family', she's bonded most closely with her adopted cousin Ruriko, although she sometimes babysits her half-sisters. She quickly formed a friendship with Brysaihe after following after her when she went looking for a trouble - a friendship that drifted into a deepening relationship; she fell in love with the sylph over time. For several years, she consider Brys her mate, and has only recently started exploring her status as freshly single. In a not dissimilar manner, her empathic abilities led her to meeting Anna, whom she's struck up a friendship with as well.
History
Growing up with her mother Irriel, Caileadair traveled a good bit as a child due to her mother's work. Even in her youth, she rebelled to a certain degree against her mother's rules - admittedly, rules often meant for her own protection, as the combination of faintly demonic and downright alien traits meant that she often drew attention and negative responses from people. Despite this, her awareness of people's emotions, including that many of them were as much afraid of her as actually angry or hateful, allowed her do a better job fitting in than might be expected. All of this travel, however, meant that she never really identified with any singular place as her home. However, she also got a great deal of exposure to new cultures and ideas, helping to make the girl far more open minded than many might have expected from how she was raised.
Given that the mother who raised her was a famed adventuring paladin and psion and her other mother a druidess, it seems likely she'd have inherited some level of ability or power. If she has, it's note at all obvious; she is relatively open about her empathy, but she has no other easily noticed unusual skills. (She does seem to have an unusual... knack... for dealing with locks, though. Probably a product of some misspent time in her youth.)
