Arayna

Arayna is a catgirl that has been a resident of Yuriba since July 13, 2005.

Background

The only child of middle class parents, Arayna was born in the state of Texas in the USA. Her parents divorced while she was still young and she moved to San Francisco, California with her mother when she was in her early teens. She lived there until she moved to Yuriba in 2005.

Arayna has always had an interest in music and, managing to save up money, purchased herself a guitar and learned to play. Through her interest in music she developed a friendship with a boy who would eventually become a close companion and together with him and his girlfriend they started a band that played mostly rock style music. This was to be an ill fated setup as a love triangle of sorts developed among the members of the band. Also, tragedy befell the boy, and the ensuing drama was enough to give Arayna cause to seek a new life elsewhere.

This led her to move to Yuriba, almost at her twentieth birthday. Upon her arrival she met with a wandering resident, Jinna, and one other as they took shelter from the rain under a tree. Even before she found a place to stay, all of them got caught up in a search for Tianshiniichuan, the cursed angel spring. Though Jinna and Arayna did eventually find the spring, their companion abandoned the quest early, most likely daunted by the apparent bond forming between the other two girls, and was never seen again in Yuriba.

Arayna and Jinna maintained a casual relationship for several months until Jinna seemed to disappear as well, probably having left the island. During this time Arayna took up residence in a room at the dojo owned by, Laurl.

Also during this time, her search for the Jusenkyou Springs led her to the discovery of Maonyanniichuan, the catgirl spring. Deciding that she liked the prospect of being a catgirl, she jumped in and changed form.

In the time after her relationship with Jinna ended, in the fall of 2005, she gradually developed other relationships and became involved in an non-exclusive relationship of sorts with another catgirl, Tenshi. Due to events spawning from this and the attempted use of magic, she managed to further change her appearance.

This has lasted until the current day.

Appearance

When Arayna moved to Yuriba she appeared as a girl almost in her twenties, usually wearing jeans and a t-shirt emblazoned with the logo of a punk or rock band. Like most Yuribans, she is slender, with a pleasing figure. Her hair is a simple dark brown, framing her face. Her eyes, however are her distinguishing feature, being of two different colors. Her right eye being brown and the left one being blue.

As mentioned, in the summer of 2005, after a few months residence in Yuriba, Arayna decided to change her appearance, taking on the curse from the catgirl Jyusenkyou spring caused her ears to take the form of a cat's ears, and provided her with a cat tail as well. The colorations of these new features matched perfectly with her natural brown hair.

Sometime during the winter of 2005 and the spring of 2006, Arayna experimented with the use of magic to help a friend, and mystically managed to change her own appearance once again. Her apparent age was reduced from near twenty to somewhere in her early teens, though all else about her remains the same.

Goals and Aspirations

Ever since she was young, Arayna has had the goal of becoming a rock musician. Rock, Punk Rock, and Metal music are her passions and she carries her prized Gibson SG Gothic guitar with her almost at all times, not wanting to miss a chance to join any impromptu jam session that may form. It's her goal to somehow start a band in Yuriba, but interest by the populace seems low.

Arayna currently rents a room at the dojo owned by Laurl, a resident of Yuriba. It is Arayna's goal to eventually have a home of her own.

And, as always in Yuriba, Arayna hopes someday to find the right girl for her, though she is still enjoying her youth and the freedom the island offers.
