Huang-Lee Jiang Alyssia, more commonly known as just Alyssia was born on May 5th, 1983 in Hong Kong, China to Lee James Ronald and Huang Liu Lin.
She was born the very same instant a High Priestess of the Tao religion and a member of a mysterious cult centered around the occult and unnatural powers. Due to this identical timing in birth and death, she was sought out and kidnapped almost immediately by members of this cult, and subjected to a ceremony intended to conjure the soul of the deceased into her body.
However, a division of the Hong Kong Secret Police easily found her location because of the sloppy kidnapping job, and rescued her in the middle of the ceremony, resulting in a mishap which bestowed psychokinetic powers to her. It is assumed, but unknown that these powers were those that the conjured possessed before their death.
Though a major bust on the cult organization occurred that day, at the age of sixteen they began tailing her extensively, to the point where she traveled throughout the world until it erupted in a street battle in Hamburg, Germany. Shortly thereafter she decided to go into hiding in a little-known place she found out about called "Yuriba."
Physical
Alyssia is a five foot seven inch tall woman who is half British and half Chinese. Her physical features, however show much more of her British ancestry than her Chinese, and is often mistaken for an American or Briton. This is one thing that has helped her to blend in during her travels.
She used to have very long brown hair which extended roughly to her knees, and was done up in a bun upheld by two marked, decorative chopsticks and worn with short bangs in front. However, since her return to the island, her hair has been cut short - to chin length at its longest point. However, she continues to wear it in a similar style, with the same two marble and obsidian chopsticks holding the bun at the back of her head in place.
A few other noticeably distinct features include long ruby-red fingernails and deep, captivating hazel eyes.
Psychological
A good natured and well-raised woman, Alyssia tries to carry herself lightly and with a good sense of humor. She is known to crack a joke at the drop of a hat, and often play along with pranks and the like.
Alyssia judges people as generally good, and will assume that a stranger is just a friend she hasn't met yet. That is to say, she's generally pretty open about making friends in most settings.
She tends to be quiet when not around friends or at least acquaintances, but will still try to make small talk or jump in on conversation in one way or another. When she is among her friends, however, her true, outgoing nature takes over and she tends to be outspoken and playful.
Also noteworthy is that on an off day, you may catch Alyssia in a philosophical mood, during which she will be likely to engage you in some sort of discussion about the intricate workings of life. That is, until the topic mysteriously turns to boobies.
Powers
As a weilder of certain special capabilities, Alyssia is known to sometimes play around with these powers in public, and so they are known or realized easily by those who come across her.
The majority of Alyssia's powers revolve around psychokinetics- the ability to move things with one's mind. She has expressed that early along with these powers using them was more like pushing wind against an object to move it, but now it has become more like simply moving things with her mind. She was trained by a family friend in China before she moved out on how to use these abilities, but said training came to a sudden end, and she taught herself most of what she knows. Since, she has essentially become a master of her art and uses it in all forms, be it to open a small portal of air while underwater to the more subtle act of moving objects of all shapes and sizes about.
Alyssia is also seen constantly being circled by a small, glowing, blue ball of energy. The ball of energy appears to be almost of it's own sound mind most of the time- zigging and zagging around her in any number of manners. However, it is known that this sphere of ultimate energy is not a sentient being, and is, in fact, under Alyssia's command, most notably used as a kendo staff for self defense. Although it is rumored to have other purposes as well...
Finally, Alyssia has in her position a small journal called The Train of Thought, which is mentally linked to her, and displays pages only at her command. Otherwise, such pages will only appear blank.
Disappearances
After arriving in Yuriba in late 2004, Alyssia has disappeared from the public eye twice thus far during her residence.
- Around July of 2005, Alyssia slipped into what seemed to be a short-term coma in her residence, until she awoke on All Hallow's Eve of 2005, narrowly missing the party that year. It is unknown what caused this long sleeping spell, but
- In late November 2005, Alyssia disappeared for a second time, and has only returned in June of 2006, citing issues with the Chinese government and a plot they have involving her against her will.
- In 2006, Alyssia disappeared as a follow-up to her disappearance in November 2005, when she was deployed for active duty as a member of a special operations team fo rthe People's Republic of China. She returned in late March 2008, though she claims to be actively enlisted, meaning that she could disappear at any time for extended service at the military's whim.
Notable Peoples
Alyssia is a known member of Coral's proclaimed "entourage" as the enforcer of the bunch. As such she handles the riff-raff who get too close to the personality, but finds the work rewarding, even if she is only paid in monopoly money.
Friends of Alyssia include Coral, Nezuma, Khada, Sadi, Shakuno, and Shion, as well as a host of other good friends and others she merely knows in passing.
Although she has no enemies to speak of, Alyssia is quick to defend her friends if in trouble, and this has brought her into a few squabbles, none of which have lead anywhere, thankfully. She hopes to maintain this lack of enemies and keep her level of conflict down. That said, she has been known to accept a few sparring challenges...
