Description
Talmara usually wears the form of a demoness. She looks like she's in her early twenties and, much to her chagrin, has an ugly scar that crosses the left side of her face vertically from just above her eye to next to her mouth. Since she was accidentally blessed with Emoniichuan water, her normally pale complexion has taken on a light shade of red and she's grown a pair of horns and, if you look closely, fangs. These horns protrude from her head above and slightly in front of her ears, curling back, down, and then forward like those of a ram. She can be described as blessed with a fragile looking, yet well developed, body and a pair of B cups. Her long, jet-black hair cascades like a waterfall around the base of her horns and down the center of her back. Her eyes, originally coppery-gold and innocent, have changed to have golden-orange irises rimmed in black. They glow in the dark, twin rings of fire burning in the shadows...when she's shrouded in shadow, that is. Most noticeable of the changes to her physique is the pair of smooth, webbed ,leathery crimson wings (Wingspan: 9ft) that emerge from her back around her shoulder blades. Swishing into view from behind her is a red, leathery tail, much like that of an imp's save for the small dull spikes that jut out symmetrically on each side(pointing out and straight), giving it a spade-like shape. On very rare occasion she can be seen out and about in her human form.
Personality
Talmara is a relatively easygoing woman. She takes things as life deals them to her and tries to cope the best way she knows how, often by distracting herself by doing things she loves or drinking. She has a very hands on approach to showing affection, most notably nipping and nibbling teasingly on people, which is just something she does. As an artist she appreciates aesthetics and beautiful women, and likes to surround herself with them. She likes having a good time, and when it comes to affection she is much more likely to give than she is to receive, very often putting others before herself. She is sensitive to criticism, and is easily slighted when inebriated, making her significantly volatile when she's had a lot to drink.
Biography
Early Life
Talmara had a fairly privileged childhood. She went to a private Catholic school for most of her young life, took piano lessons, and was encouraged to dabble in the arts as she pleased. She earned an art scholarship and began attending art school in Pisa, Italy. She was a protegee sculptress, the first her family had had in generations and she was doted upon by her wealthy father. Talmara never really took note of where her family's wealth came from nor paid attention to people her father associated with on a regular basis. It was almost like she was the only person in Pisa who was blind to the web of criminality her father spun. He was the head of the Terremottino family, a mafia that borrowed its modus operandi from its Sicilian cousins farther down the boot. It competed directly with another large mafia that called itself La Ragnatela(The Spider's Web).
Talmara's life would change for the worse as she picked up the interest of a particularly unsavory member of La Ragnatela. Luigi Vincetti was the son of one of the higher-ups of La Ragnatela and had a reputation for getting what he wanted. When Talmara rejected his advances, he was less than thrilled. So some time later, when Talmara was walking the streets of Pisa, Luigi and several of his friends ambushed her and in the space of several hours, shattered the perfect snow-globe that was her life and introduced her to the harsh reality that organized crime was. She was left barren and scarred from that event, most of her scars psychological save for the one that mars her face. The next two years of her life would be the darkest she, and the people of Pisa, would ever see.
The War
Talmara's father did not take well to Luigi Vincetti and co. having their way with his little girl. He put out a hit on Luigi and several of his friends, sparking a mob war that would leave several hundred dead on both sides. Talmara lost a pair of brothers and several cousins in the fighting that ultimately would culminate in her father fleeing with her from the city. They were chased, of course, and during a shootout in which her father was shot while driving during their flight from Pisa their car ran off of a bridge and into a river. Talmara remembers little beyond that, and if asked will only be able to remember water, drowning, and light. The next thing she knew she was lying on the white sandy beaches of the island of Yuriba.
Yuriba
Talmara spent her first hours on the island combing the beaches looking for any sign of her father. Finding none, she wandered up the path to the beach to the village wandering into Leona's Bar and Girl. Dazed, confused, and tired, Talmara spent several hours talking to the local girls and became fast friends with a Naiad named Veen who seems to have arrived that same night. That night was a sort of rebirth for Tali, and she quickly gave up trying to find her way home. Her date of arrival was November 19, 2009.
Talmara spent many of her first months in Yuriba homeless, drifting from place to place until she began living with Veen at what would later be known as the Emiya Estate. She would later move in with the timid Judy before the girl's disappearance in 2010. Talmara would stay at Judy's place for a month or two more before she was crashing once again back at the Emiya Estate on Veen's couch. It was there that she met Beth and Elly, who became two of her closest friends.
Talmara spent a lot of her time at Leona's Bar and Girl. She tended to haunt the place late at night and drink while spending time with friends and "Hunting" with Veen. In September of 2010 Talmara's drinking began to get out of hand. As her relationships with Veen and Judy floundered in quick succession so too did her restraint when drinking. By 2011, Talmara was a raging alcoholic who was more likely to be seen with a drink in her hand than doing anything else. She spent up to five nights a week drunk, picking up random girls on a whim and drowning her sorrows with Vodka and other hard liquors.
With Beth's support, Talmara has managed to finally beat her alcoholism. She'll still drink a glass of wine from time to time, but she is for the most part sober. With her drinking reined in she has also toned down her behavior at Leona's Bar, spending much less time in a drunken stupor and more in her workshop above her room in Arturia's undersea brothel.
Magic
Prior to her accident with a tarot card experiment that turned her into a demon, Talmara had no idea she could use magic at all. She discovered her abilities and potential one night while she was drunk at the Baby Seal. She was having a bad day and was irritable to begin with. She does not remember exactly what set her off, but apparently she blasted a hole through the roof and flew off. She was intercepted by Merin, who chided Talmara and burned a sealing rune into her right hand. From that point on, any time Talmara used magic the blue rune on her hand would(and still does) light up. It seems to be an inhibitor of some sort, preventing Talmara from performing any really high powered spells.
Talmara seems to have an affinity to fire and, not counting a very few lessons in magic from Arturia, is largely self taught. She is a proficient pyromancer and has some very limited skill in hydromancy. Talmara has, through months and months of training and some research, learned to focus her pyrokinetic abilities to increase the potency of her spells, mostly as she needed a method of turning stone into volcanic slag to turn it into obsidian, which she has spent the better part of a year attempting to create. At long last it seems she has perfected her methods, allowing her to create obsidian in large enough quantities to carve without overcasting and triggering the rune in her hand. She attributes her success to her learning to concentrate enough to inject the heat directly into an object as opposed to burning it with an open flame. She calls this Thermomancy, and she believes it to be a sub-magic of both Pyromancy and Hydromancy, as both are affected by the user's control of the temperature of their elemental spells.
Talmara, through her thermomantic experimentations, also seems to have the developed the ability to suck warmth out of an object much in the same way that she puts warmth into one, which is largely by affecting the vibrations of an object on a molecular level. Being able to make things cold has limited use beyond chilling drinks and treating fevers, but Talmara is still doing a good deal of research into its potential.
Romances
Veen: Veen has been there for Talmara since the beginning of her stay on Yuriba and is her most trusted friend. The naiad woman and Tali had a romance for a very long time which ended sourly when Veen proposed to Talmara and Shirouko Emiya at the same time. Talmara was not ready for such a commitment and left the Emiya Estate to live with Judy. After Judy vanished Talmara would spend a good deal of time on Veen's couch before she believed she overstayed her welcome and, not wishing to intrude any longer, crashed in the couch fort at Leona's Bar and Girl for a while. Veen is still an intimate and close friend of Talmara's, she just isn't around very often.
Judy: Judy was a friend of hers and Veen's for a while. When Talmara's relationship with her naiad friend went sour, Talmara left Veen's place to live with Judy, who was a mutual friend of the two. Romance blossomed between the two for a while before Judy inexplicably vanished one day, never to be seen again. Talmara, heartbroken and abandoned, began to drink quite a bit at this point.
Arturia: Arturia was a friend of Talmara's through Veen and came to become a sort of lover to Talmara. After Judy vanished Talmara worked out a rough sort of agreement with Arturia. Talmara signed on to work security at Arturia's Undersea Brothel, and Arturia gave Talmara her first Lessons in magic. The two of them fell into a relationship for a time before Arturia vanished for an extended period of time following a small fight the two of them had. During this time, Talmara's drinking began to get way out of hand, probably because she blamed herself for most, if not all, of her relationship problems.
Beth: Beth has been the silent supporter of Talmara through hardship for a long time. As a dear friend, Talmara did not notice Beth's undying loyalty and care for her as anything beyond simple friendship. After having a crush on the girl for the longest of times, Talmara, with the help of a little liquid courage, asked Beth out. The two have been together since, and have even married.
Senka: Senka was another of Tali's housemates and lovers. One day she just up and vanished. :/
Other Relationships
Nazrin: Talmara is rather fond of Nazrin. She views the girl as a sort of extended-girlfriend because of their shared relationship with Beth.
Elly: Easily one of Talmara's closest and most intimate friends.
Mika Tetsuyama: Another of Tali's close friends.
Silver: Talmara does not see her as often as she used to, but she still considers her a close friend.
Lily: There is a lot about the Shinigami that Talmara does not understand but she considers her a good friend nonetheless and is most intrigued by her.
Kayla: Kayla is interesting in that she is almost a friend by extension. After having been exposed to the Kitty-angel, as she likes to call her, several times in the past, the woman has very much piqued Talmara's interests and while she is not exactly a close friend, Talmara holds a degree of trust in the woman.
