Appearance
Talia Windspear is a very attractive woman that stands fairly tall, around 5'11". From a quick glance, you can guess she is somewhere in her late twenties or early thirties. Her skin is a smooth, medium brown. Her long, straight, jet-black hair falls to about the middle of her back, contrasting slightly with her deep, emerald-green eyes. She has a slender, athletic build; slim and well-toned, it seems she exercises quite a bit. Her hips have an alluring curve to them, while her bust is slightly larger than average, around a 36C. She seems to prefer going without too much makeup; the only visible trace is a some dark violet, almost black lipstick.
Talia is dressed in a tunic made of simple cloth, with leather and gray fur woven into the fabric. She dresses in earthy tones; browns, tans, and golds, mostly. A pair of tan leggings fit snugly around her thighs, and a pair of fine leather boots come up to her knees on each leg. The top of her outfit is sleeveless, leaving her arms completely bare, while the front of her tunic is designed to give the casual observer a nice view. Overall, she has a very natural look about her, reflecting her love of the wilderness.
Background
Talia originally hails from a distant land, a place where magic is plentiful and constant battles are waged. She was born to the Shandrissi, a race of warrior-women known for their harsh training and intense disdain for males. She spent the first sixteen years of her life among them, learning to hunt and use woodland magic. Somewhat softhearted by nature, Talia always seemed to be a bit of a deviant, but still showed enough skill to remain among her people. However, something happened that resulted in her exile from the tribe - an event that nobody apart from Talia and her fellow Shandrissi know about. She fled to a continent far to the west, to live alone in the wilds.
There, she was found by a druid of the woodlands, and taken in as one of his order. She was paired with a direwolf named Cane, and the two became like brother and sister. Though she respected the natural balance of the wilds, she developed a rebellious streak that constantly frustrated her teachers. Though a bit unruly and initially uneasy around males, her time with the Shandrissi had made her an expert with bow and spear, and adept with wind and earth magics. The druids ordained her as a Leaf Guardian, an elite protector of the forests.
After several years of isolation in the forests, a great conflict arose in the land, and the Leaf Guardians were drawn into it. Talia and her partner, Cane, did their part to vanquish evil, their most notable achievement being a terrible battle against a blighter - a druid who had turned his back on nature, and used plant and animal life to fuel his powers. Talia nearly perished during the encounter, but miraculously managed to defeat her adversary. After the battles were over, their superiors bestowed upon them a great honor: To travel to a distant land and raise a grove of their very own.
Personality
Talia's personality occasionally contradicts itself. Some times, she is quite tomboyish, but also possesses a love for plants (particularly flowers) and animals. She treats even an immense creature like Cane as though he were no more than a cute little puppy, much to the wolf's chagrin. Her sense of playfulness is similar to a dog's - She can be feisty and energetic, and enjoys being physically close with her friends. Occasionally, lost in her own enthusiasm, she will pounce on them before proceeding to snuggle them mercilessly.
In love, Talia is very passionate and devoted. The closest comparison would be with the same solemnness, protectiveness and loyalty that a knight in shining armor would have for a fair maiden...if the knight in question was a busty amazon. This has been the source of some difficulty, as she is generally uncomfortable with the polyamorous customs of most of the island's residents, and has experienced her share of heartbreak in past years because of it. Resolved to cease her search for romance for the time being, she will simply entertain close friends at her grove, or go to their own houses - and in a rare change, she has decided to start making new acquaintances, venturing out into the village on her own.
Cane
In this world, direwolves have long been extinct, and even in Talia's world, they are rarely seen by humans. Known for their ferocity and immense size, Cane is exceptional even among his own kind. He possesses a height and body mass comparable to a grizzly bear, and when acting as a Leaf Guardian, he was capable of incredibly destructive feats. Of course, many may wonder how an animal can live as long as Cane supposedly has. The answer to this is simple: Cane is a totem animal, spiritually bound to the life force of his human counterpart. Thus, when Talia grows old and passes away, only then will Cane do the same. The strange patterns in his fur are actually druidic runes that serve as a testament to this fact.
Talia and Cane are closer than a normal human and their pet. They are kindred spirits and longtime partners, having been through countless struggles together. In many ways, they are of one mind and spirit, and each often regard the other as a total equal. Cane is a proud animal, quite intelligent for his kind, and he often takes it upon himself to guard the grove when Talia is sleeping or otherwise busy in another part of the village. He is wary of newcomers, but given time (and an occasional scolding by his partner), he can grow accepting of others, even displaying a bit of a playful side to a rare few.
Danica
A fellow Shandrissi like Talia, and a member of their tribe's warrior caste, Danica and Talia were lovers when they were both young. Their affair led to Talia's exile from her homeland, and Dani has spent the past ten years searching for her lost love. When Dani arrived in Yuriba, she realized that Talia had been living there, but had also left the island just prior to her arrival. Saddened, she decided to remain in Yuriba for the time being, taking care of Talia's grove. Upon Talia's sudden and miraculous return, however, the two were finally reunited. However, much time had passed, and Talia's feelings for Dani were no longer what they once were. After a long discussion, they agreed to care for the grove together, and simply remain friends.
Friends
Some of Talia's close circle of friends include...
Neiko - A close friend whom Talia loves dearly, and one of the only people Cane seems to like, too. Talia has known Neiko almost as long as she's known about Yuriba itself. Although over the years, Talia has occasionally had to leave the village to attend to matters back in her homeland, meeting with Neiko to rekindle their friendship is always the first thing Talia does when she returns.
Skye - A young catgirl who Talia met by chance in the park. Apparently prone to frequent cat naps, Skye nodded off shortly after their introduction, prompting Talia to take her back to the grove, too worried about leaving her alone in the middle of the park. Talia now fills the dual function of friend and occasional living pillow for the girl.
Kinuko - A young girl who became lost in Talia's grove and wound up being chased by Cane. Talia scolded her puppy and brought the girl to her house, and the two soon became friends.
Mio - A girl Talia met while walking along the road one day. After a playful prank by Talia, designed to spook the poor girl, the two began talking, and quickly became friends.
