Sthessa

Sthessa is one of the few lamia to inhabit Yuriba. A fairly recent arrival, she claims to have visited many places in many realms before arriving on the island.

Physical Appearance

As a lamia Sthessa has the upper body of a human woman and the lower body of a massive serpent, in her case covered with smooth scale mottled in various shades of pale yellow. From the waist up the scale gives way to pale, smooth, human skin. Her body is very curvaceous, a fact accented by the fact that she usually holds her back slightly arched. She has very long, pale blonde hair that falls straight to her waist. Her features are smooth and almost statuesque, featuring large golden eyes and full, red-tinted lips.

While she does wear clothing on her upper body, she lacks visible genitalia on her serpent half and thus has no need for bottoms, which would be impossible for her to wear anyway. A close look would reveal that her tongue is forked. Though she does have longer and sharper canines - the typical vampire-style fangs - she is not venomous.

Psychological Profile

General Personality

Sthessa's personality leans toward extravagance. She is an extremely animated woman with a penchant for open displays of enthusiasm, and she adopts a flowery mode of speech, often addressing others as "dahling" or "dearie". Her mannerisms are sensual and almost lazy, though given that she delights in teasing others it is likely that her behaviour is not intended to express a desire for sex. She is playful and good-natured, believing that there is no point in living a life in which one cannot find joy. Sthessa is an extremely adventurous woman and takes great joy in meeting new people and seeing new sights. She is highly sociable, though she tends to want to make herself the center of attention.

Her extravagant character has the unfortunate side effect of occasionally making more reserved individuals uncomfortable in her presence. She does not always mesh well with those she meets but shows affection for nearly everyone anyway, seldom holding a grudge.

Sthessa is fairly opinionated and seldom resists her impulse to comment on issues that she feels strongly on. She will often wade happily into the thick of a heated debate, justifying her intrusion by claiming that she "can't resist a train wreck." Despite her lavish attitudes she appears to be fairly compassionate at heart and has been known to shield the innocent from such things as bad sex in public.

Romantic Preferences

Sthessa is fond of casual romance and of the idea of friends with benefits, though she readily admits that she is seldom intimate with those she meets despite her seductive-seeming demeanor. She seems to dislike the idea of long-term commitments and does not seem interested in a monogamous love relationship, perhaps because she is a compulsive adventurer and enjoys expanding her horizons in love as well as in the rest of her life.

Relations

Though Sthessa has not been long in Yuriba she has developed friendships with Coral and Lumi, the latter of whom occasionally behaves as a fan towards her. She has a certain platonic affection for Rylia that may or may not be reciprocated.

History

While Sthessa's history is unknown, she claims to hail from a tropical island known as Elevsis, located in a plane of existence three iterations to the left of ours. Her presence in Yuriba is no doubt due in part to Yuriba's dimensional nexus properties.
