Samus Aran, known to many simply as 'The Hunter', especially her foes. She's a renowned, intergalactic bounty hunter, whose exploits are the stuff of legend, to many. The only survivor of a Space Pirate attack on the Galactic Federation colony world of KL-2, she was raised by the enigmatic Chozo, a bird-like race of benevolent aliens, who gifted her with a suit of their powerful combat armor, when she was old enough.
Swearing vengeance against the Space Pirates, for the deaths of the other colonists to include her own family, she joins the GF Army and is quickly assigned to a special operations squad. After clashing repeatedly with her superiors, she leaves the service and becomes a freelance bounty hunter. She performs several missions for the Galactic Federation that cripple Space Pirate operations, saves several worlds from destruction, and eliminates a deadly threat to galactic society.
History
Samus has a long history, and it's not one she's seen fit to divulge to anyone. Even the handful of people she's managed to trust throughout her life only know bits and pieces of the whole story.

Personality
Samus is no teenager, nor is she the sort of woman to play around. She is a mature, serious sort, who isn't really fond of the loud and sometimes boisterous activities of those younger than she. She's a private person, not very talkative about herself, beyond much more than vague details. She values maturity and level-headedness in others, as they're her most notable personal traits.
She's spent at least a decade in the army, before going into work for herself, as a bounty hunter, and might come off as stiff and tight-assed to some. But, it's all how she was raised. The military was her first, real family. Prior to that, the only real companions she had were the alien Chozo, who raised her when she was young, till her teenage years.
Despite her unconventional upbringing, she's an intelligent and sharp-witted woman, something those in the military quickly discovered. Her attitude, however, has softened and become more amicable, since then.
