Ryūko Matoi (纏 流子 Matoi Ryūko) is a teenager, who dresses in high-school uniforms, primarily, and hangs around The Baby Seal primarily. She also ventures to the Hot Spring in the village proper, as well as The Dragon's Brew. Her fondness for spicy food extends to just about any form of food, regardless of origin. Thusfar, she's only really stuck with the Baby Seal's faire. She seems to be a laid back, delinquent of a high-school student, but thusfar has refused to speak of how she came to be on Yuriba, or her life prior. While she hasn't met anyone significant enough to discuss these things with, perhaps, she seems more interested in having a few friends as opposed to any real romantic relationships.
History
Ryuko hasn't spoken to anyone about her life prior to Yuriba, and it might take a very special type of person to get her to do so.
Yuriba
Ryuko's existence on Yuriba itself has been a laid back, casual sort of thing, thus far. She's made a few friends, has her favorite places to hang out, but other than that, seems content with the way she's ended up. At the very least, she seems fine with the place. She seems to avoid Leona's, having only poked her head in once. The Baby Seal Club is her haunt of choice, and to a lesser extent, she can sometimes be found in one of the hot springs. She has her own residence, at the Sun Lily Suites, as well. She's also joined the Lily Blades, after helping out with their duties.
Personality
While Ryuko is laid back and seems pretty tomboyish and rough, there's still a girl beneath that exterior, and she does appreciate certain gestures like any girl might. She's not the type to appreciate strangers acting overly familiar with her, and tends to avoid people who do so. Still, she's quick to offer a greeting to someone new, have a conversation when she's engaged, and at least make attempts at being sociable. She seems more mature than one might expect out of a teenager, and especially a young adult.
