Biography
Ria is a product of Tinley Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, and grew up with a fairly unremarkable childhood, working on the high school yearbook and dabbling in softball. She went to college at the University of Illinois, pursuing the decidedly boring major of mathematics. While a natural prodigy, once away from her parents and able to fully enjoy her social life without the watchful eyes of her parents, she immediately sought to avoid the inevitable stigma of being a math major. Consequently, she spent nearly all her free time in parties. While she had begun meandering toward a degree in mathematics, she had to admit she wasn't very focused at it, and lacked any real plan for what to do after graduation. All things considered, it was probably a blessing that she one day was zapped from her life of partying to the island of Yuriba.
Appearance
Ria is quite happy and proud to point out that, so far as anyone can tell, she is the only skunkgirl on the island of Yuriba. Of course, where she comes from, skunkgirls are quite common, along with all manners of what others might call anthropomorphic beings. For Ria, the remarkable thing is how few women on the island have a nice, shiny coat of fur to protect them, but she is very slowly growing used to this oddity.
For herself, she is in all respects very female, being noticably curvy. She is also, as noted, every bit the anthropomorphic skunk, walking on two legs, but with a slightly protruding snout where a typical biped would have a flatter face. Her teeth are not unusually sharp, however, and it is generally very easy to tell when she smiles. Which happens quite a bit. Typically she eschews clothing, considering her fur more than adequate clothing for anyone, though when pressed she will put on a pair of shorts to avoid offending the sensibilities of others. While her ears are unadorned, she does sport a pair of rings on her chest, largely obscured by her fur. She'll cheerfully point out that those are as ordinary for her homeland as earrings are for others.
Interests
She seems fairly happy to be driftless, though as she spends more time at the Baby Seal she is taking a greater interest in village culture, and the role she might play in it, actively looking for ways to occupy herself. A number of opportunities have suggested themselves, but she seems in no hurry to settle into one or the other.
Relationships
She tends not to form very close bounds, still perhaps in the college party girl phase of her life. She will fairly often be seen in the company of Lily however, though the exact nature of their relationship is still undefined.

Whether or not she is capable of exhibiting the well known trait of skunks to squirt musk to protect herself is a point of deliberate ambiguity for her.
