Matsuri

On the island of Yuriba, Matsuri generally refers to a specific festival that usually occurs between mid-August and early September. The theme of the Matsuri tends to be celebrating the end of summer, and getting a last bit of fun in before the fall season (and semester) begins. Matsuri generally seems to last through all of Saturday and Sunday, and often consists of a number of rides, shopping venues, and small food carts scattered throughout the village. Occasionally, larger events are held, such as dances or competitions, but the availability varies from year to year to keep things fresh.
