Mage-quake

Occurring in 2005, the colloquial term Mage-quake is used to refer to an earthquake triggered when several ancient magical barriers sealing off parts of Yuriba beyond the village collapsed. It was the triggering event for Maboroshi being split off from the main island, and also marked the first point when extensive access to the Yuriba Forest, and the mountains of Akibimi-san and Engetsu-san was available. Although the name sounds scary, it's believed that the collapse of the barriers came about because the village was stable enough to make it safe to be able to come near to the ruins of the ancient Lily Civilization, as well as gain access to the volcano Inishie-san before it began to threaten the new settlement directly.
