Lian is a young woman from an alternate future of Earth, namely the UC Timeline of Mobile Suit Gundam. She's a Zeon pilot, who originally began her training on the MS-06 Zaku II, then transferred to an amphibious assault unit on Earth in Southeast Asia that made use of the rather successful line of Marine-type Mobile suits such as the Acuguy and Gogg. She's also a squad commander, despite her young age, and her status as a member of the enlisted ranks, where the position is usually given to an officer. She's a skilled tactician and a good leader, who takes care of those under her charge like family. This perhaps stems from her own difficult past, one that she's still not managed to escape from in the short time since the event. One can only say how her tenure in Yuriba will work out.

Physical Description
Lian is on the tall side, standing close to six feet. This is possibly due to the fact that her grandparents are of Germanic European heritage and immigrated to Side 3. She was born on the Colony, so natural gravity hasn't restricted her growth either. Her hair is cut short, perhaps a bit due to her tomboyish nature. She enjoyed team sports at her school, such as soccer and swimming, and since her physical regimen only increased in the military, she's in overall excellent shape and health. As far as her clothing goes, she's pretty much dressed for the sub-tropical climate, since her work in the Phillipines, New Guinea, and Java have forced her military attire to adapt considerably. Staying inside the cockpit of a Mobile Suit doesn't help matters much, either.
General Personality
Lian has a deep disdain for people from Earth, partly from her experiences in the military, as well as what happened to her family. Though not as extremely racist/prejudiced as some other Zeon might tend to be, she still has her grudges. She's an understanding person, and has a rather cool temper. She doesn't get angry easily, unless she's under a considerable amount of stress. If she is, she can be flat-out rude and spiteful. Again, this kind of change in behavior is due to her family.
History
Lian was born on one of the Side 3 colonies, Altran, and lived a fairly normal life with her family. Her father owned a bakery, her mother taught at an elementary school part-time, and her two younger twin sisters went to school. Her father was 35 and her mother 30, while her sisters were both 7 years old. Lian wasn't a particularly bad student, but felt lost when it came to finding something she wanted to do with herself after she finished Prep-school. Then came Zeon. The call to arms seemed to strike a chord with the young and idealistic Lian, and though her parents were both worried for her, she enlisted in the Side 3 Militia, which would soon become the Zeon Space Forces. She trained with a brand new weapon system, the Mobile Suit, and quickly showed her talent by graduating at the top of her class. It didn't take long after that for Zeon forces to begin encroaching on Federation space, and soon, war had erupted. Though Lian was a little scared, she left home knowing that her family would likely be safe so far from the fight. This, however, would tragically turn out to be false hope. Federation special forces, in retaliation for the Zeon use of nerve gas on a Federation garrison on Side 1, set large demolition charges on the sealing bulkheads that kept the recycled atmosphere of the colony intact. These bulkheads also covered the oxygen scrubbers, which removed contaminates from the air. When all of the charges were set off at once, the entire colony was depressurized in less than a minute. Even if a room was airtight, the damage to the oxygen scrubbers meant that any survivors simply suffocated on air polluted with Carbon Dioxide. Perhaps in a twisted act of mercy, Lian's family wasn't subjected to this slow end. Death came quite instantaneously from the cold vaccuum of space. When Lian heard of the attack, she jumped in her MS and blasted out of the hanger, going AWOL for nearly a week. She returned, carrying a photograph of herself and her sisters, taken at their 7th birthday party. Though the sight of her family and home scarred her emotionally, she quickly smothered it with hate for the Federation, the already inspired Lian now boiling over with the desire for vengeance. After Garma Zabi's assassination and Gihren Zabi's emotional speech, there wasn't any turning back for her. She was promptly placed on the front lines again after expressing her desires to her superiors, and barely managed to survive the Battle of Loum. She was placed in command of a squad in Southeast Asia after the drop operations, and fought continuously in the jungles against the Federation Army. While on her way back from a covert operation, she was attacked by a submarine and washed ashore on Yuriba, along with the useless and irreparable wreck of her Mobile Suit, an aquatic type to be exact.
PTSD
Thanks to the events surrounding the death of her family and friends, as well as the destruction of her home, it should come as no surprise that she's developed Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. It is a severe and ongoing emotional reaction to an extreme psychological trauma. This stressor may involve someone's actual death, a threat to the patient's or someone else's life, serious physical injury, or threat to physical or psychological integrity, overwhelming usual psychological defenses, rendering the patient unable to cope. Her symptoms can be triggered at random and most often include zoning out or staring off into space, rapid breathing and pulse, profuse sweating, extreme mood-shifts, short-term memory lapses, and full-blown delusions that make her relive the event in her mind.
