Kallista Turath is a teifling woman who arrived on the island of Yuriba in July of 2008. She has mostly kept to herself and kept her head down out of habit, but gradually acclimatizing to the Yuriban culture is allowing her to relax and let her guard down more and more frequently.
Physical Description
Distinctive seems to be the word of the day when it comes to describing the teifling woman. She seems to be on the tall end of the yuriban scale, and her large ram-style horns seem to add a few more inches on top of that. The horns rise out of a mane of long black hair and they end near the point of her slightly pointed ears. And then when you add the brick red skin and nearly six-foot long nimble and flexible tail, well, distinctive pretty much sums it up.
Kallista is extremely proud of her teifling heritage, and is quick to take offense and rise to the defense should she feel it has been insulted. One of the quickest ways to raise her ire when she first arrived was to mistake her for a demon, but she seems to have mellowed out and accepted the comparison on the island, as it seems not to have such a negative connotation here. This pride leads her to carry herself in a noble and confident manner.
Personality
Kallista tends to be polite and formal when meeting somebody for the first time. Once she's gotten to know somebody, she tends to be a loyal and steadfast friend. Large crowds of people can make the teifling woman uncomfortable and defensive. Sex and sexuality seems to be a bit of a stumbling block with the teifling, as it's pretty much the only other way to make her uncomfortable, and if the two things should end up combined, it is a good bet that Kallista is seeking a way to remove herself from the situation.
Other than that though, Kallista is driven, responsible and willing to try new things. She is not fiercely intelligent, but she is smart enough to know what she needs to know, and how to learn what she needs to learn. She learns much better from experience than she does from a classroom setting.
