Glass Eel

Glass Eels, not to be confused with the juvenile form of more common species of eels, are an partially cartilaginous breed of eel that returns to Yuriba's rivers and lakes to spawn. As their name implies, they are largely transparent, save the bones in their head, and certain internal organs located directly behind it, resulting in the eerie appearance of being nothing more than fish heads, swimming along without any bodies. It is said that if a fisherwoman should see them in their dreams, they should abstain from going out to cast their nets for a week and a day, or misfortune should befall them. Further adding to folklore is that Glass Eels only ever are found swimming in packs of five or more, and to find less than this number in your dreams indicates a truly great misfortune impending.
