Genesis Magite (somtimes called Genesis Winona Teresa Franchesca Magitus Magite) is a Ren'shial woman who has lived on Yuriba for many years. Her race is extraterrestrial in origin, although her appearance is very close to a standard human. Genesis had in the past stated that her race was bipedal and shared various traits with humans, but her appearance was the result of genetic manipulation she used on herself in order to fit in. Recently when asked Genesis has amended the statement saying that she now continues to look the way she does because that is how The Lady sees her. The betraying feature about her heritage tends to be her eyes. Her iris is a deep blue in color, but rather than a normal dark pupil, her pupils are a lighter shade of blue than the rest of her eye. She appears no older than 20, but it's commonly accepted belief that she is, in fact, much, much older. It came to light (during the time when Genesis was a Guardian) that her name is more closely pronounced as Xenesaris.

Genesis has served as the primary doctor in Yuriba for some time and runs the Yuriba Clinic along with a small number of nurses and assistants. For most of her time on the island, she was either involved with, or engaged to the pixie Merin. The engagement ended, in large part because of the fallout of a number of tumultuous incidents in Genesis's life. Of these, not much is known, as those involved all seem extremely reluctant to even touch upon the subject. Slightly more commonly known is that it is around this period that Genesis began training as one of Guardians of the island, and took up tutelage in the druidic arts under the kitsune breisleach.

Genesis and the Pillar

Genesis Magite is not only extraterrestrial in nature. In actuality she was an avatar serving as a vessel for a primal cosmic check point. These check points are known as Pillars. In particular Genesis acts as the Pillar of Science. Originally she came to Yuriba to forget herself, but in the end remembered who she was and her purpose in part to her friends and fiancee at the time. She fought constantly against a destroying force she had absorbed in the hopes that one day she could overcome it and be at peace. It was during this time that Genesis revealed that as the Pillar she did not posess a soul. Instead the Pillar served as the foundation of her being.

The Life and death and life of Genesis

Eventually through experimentations with magic and a growing knowledge of her surroundings Genesis was able to cage her demon inside of the Pillar directly. However this action caused the Pillar to change its Domain and thus begin to reject the woman. Genesis seeing the end of her life coming chose her successor to the Pillar and quietly accepted her fate. Despite being at the end of her considerable life span she was spared by the Island and given new form and new life. Enlisting breis as her tutor she became a Guardian of the Island and forceably de-aged herself in order to learn what it was to be a child of Yuriba. Sadly however it was not meant to last. Her previous Pillar was revealed to be quite alive, and though passed onto a successor compilcations arose within the succesor. Faced with a choice Genesis sacrificed her new life and her future to regain her previous Pillar and free the current vessel.

Genesis the Vessel

Eventually Genesis once again left with little warning spurred by a sinking feeling that any two Pillars in close proximity would eventually lead to tragety she left through doors that things like her knew. Traveling these corridors Genesis contemplated her life and inevitable place in the world. It was here where she found an enity to take on her burden as the Pillar. Quietly Genesis handed over her mantle and waited for the end to come only to realize she was standing on a beach beneath a sky with three blazing suns. As a gift of service she had been transformed by the entity which now held her place in the cosmos. Striving to find out her new form she has given her particular transformation the name "Vessel". A Vessel is a creature or thing which may serve as an avatar or agent of a higher power or idea, but need not be 'filled' in order to continue to exist. While Genesis theoretically has the capacity to serve a higher function she does not require it in order to remain alive. Still without a conventional soul it seems that her simple act of being is enough to continue to support her life.

Genesis and Yuriba

Though Genesis came to Yuriba as a stranger she has remained on the island and frequently refers to it as to where she was 'born'. Even though a creature such as Genesis would not seem to require or want a God or Goddess, Genesis states with absolute conviction that her faith is Yuriban and she worships the Lady. In all of her various phases she has staunchly supported the island and attempted to protect it at all costs.
