Arlein

Ar'lein Rein'Annas Tei’keliath is a non-native woman who woke up in a hot spring on the island and has been slowly adapting to the customs and culture ever since.

Physical Description

She moves with the poise and grace that time and training as a dancer in the Temple has given her. Standing just over 6 feet tall, she tends to tower over a great many of the Island dwellers but she doesn't seem to notice her own height. Her build is of a dancers, slim and strong. She has the ears of an elf but the coloring of cinnamon mocha, with expressive golden brown eyes. Her medium brown hair is quite long but well cared for as it falls nearly to her knees if out of it's usual mid thigh braided ponytail. Her body shows a colorful past off with scars and tattoos dotting her frame. Her left ear tip was lost and she has scaring along the left side of her neck, as well as a nasty scar that graces her right shoulder. Her back has tattoos as well as more scaring from flame and lash. All of her scars seem to be very, VERY old as they have silvered and faded.

Personality

Outwardly outgoing when met, she tends to be quite and reflective when alone. While she doesn't shy away from people, she has taken her time on the island to carefully observe the Islanders first and learn the language rather then plunge headlong into it's people. Having a keen intelligence and great amount of experience, she will size up a person and treat them fairly before listening to conjecture and rumor. While sometimes sad about her loss of her world, she has not allowed herself to fall into depression as she seems to be taking it all in stride. Occasionally she can have a dark streak but that is seen only rarely and when it's actually needed. Those who she calls friend know her as a resolute confidant and supporter.

Biography

Before Yuriba

Ar'lein and her people lived in a world of great magic and wonders. Her people were not dark elves nor light elves but rather the offspring of both. After the Fall of her birth city to Fire and Death, the exodus of her people began as they moved from the deep underground caverns to live once again on the surface as their ancestors had. She lost her first family in the fall of the old city but found her second one during the search for the second. As her people prospered, so did her new family and mates. They established the independent Clan house of Rein'Annas with her and her Mate, the drowess Ves'xile, as head of the Clan. She and her mate tuck turns on the Queens council while caring for their children and expanding their Clan's holdings till they were the second largest Clan in the new City. Her Clan specialized in being magical tinkers and supplying great works of artifice to her people.

Life On Yuriba

Dazed and confused as to how she came to be on the Island, Ar'lein listened to people using a strange language as she hid and foraged for food. While the Island seemed to be a paradise of unimaginable delights, she knew only too well that every place had a dark underbelly and until she could identify and understand it she would be wary of the people. months passed as she discovered how to attune herself with the new land, how to speak it's haltingly harsh language and finally understood the Deities of the place she was begrudgingly calling home. She stayed away from most people due to a great anger over leaving her family and children behind.

She has spent the better part of the last six months in the deep woods coming to grips with her new life and is only now truly starting to interact with the people in ones and twos.
