The Anniversary Matsuri has been set for the weekend of the 19th through the 21st of March. They are still being planned individually, and if anyone would like to attempt to host a mini-event, supply ideas for contests, prizes, or games, please contact us!
Confirmed Events
From the 19th to the 21st one will be able to pick up two scavenger hunt lists to be completed at one's own pace throughout the duration of the festival. The list vendor will be removed on the last day of the event, but the lists themselves should be accepted up until April starts. Later in the weekend, there will be a short race-hunt scheduled, more than likely in the early afternoon on one of the weekend days.
In the afternoon and evening on the 19th Diana Jove and her family will be hosting a barbeque and grill event at their place of residence. Doors are open to all, and directions will be forthcoming. The event is mostly a mixer for relaxing on the porch and balcony, and weather permiting the pool area.
On Saturday the 20th at around three or four in the afternoon Lisa Moonbeam will be taking requests for an all-request musical jam session. This will be a singing and guitar playing little thing with group participation encouraged. Contact Lisa at about the time to see where she will be setting up, the venue may depend on the crowd.
Throughout the weekend, Rinkei Gakuen will be holding a bake-sale. All sorts of delicious desserts will be available for tasting, and any funds raised will go to support the operation of the school. Special thanks to the first year home economics class for helping create such wonderful tastey treats! The bake sale booth will be set up just in front of the school itself, on Sand Lily Road. Two blocks east and one block south from the village center.
Thusfar there is no dance planned, but there is a costume party planned at the Yuriba Free Library. The event is planned to be one where people dress up as literary characters from books, and is set for 5:08 PM Sunday the 21st. Ladies are asked to choose as the basis for their costumes books with literary merit; a deliberately vague term, but obviously dressing as your favorite light novel character may not be desirable. Further, costumes should preferably be reasonably suitable for public attire. As there isn't a formal dance setup, there has been some debate on moving it to friday, or having a seperate, more native themed dance earlier in the event. Prizes may be offered to those who manage to stump the librarian as to what book they've been inspired by.
The yearly Silent Auction will start Saturday, March 13th at 6PM! Bidding is open until Saturday, March 20th at 6PM with the winners of the auction being displayed at 6:05PM. People who are interested in putting an item up for bid are advised to read the appropriate directions (view selling) at the auction location. Auctions are being accepted until March 15th. As with prior years, this auction is taking place at the Rental Hall of the Crimson Rose and Sword.
