Physical Description
A young-looking girl with long, feathery wings growing from her back. She has silky brown hair which reaches down to the middle of her back, and a face that looks fresh and innocent, except for her eyes. Her left eye is blue, but her right eye is a dark brown, which can have an alluring, almost hypnotic effect to those who look into her eyes.
She wears a white robe of some light material, with slits cut out of the back for her wings, and simple sandals on her feet. Around her neck is a silver pendant on a fine silver chain, depicting an angel in flight.
Personality and History
Coming to Yuriba
Angela used to live in heaven, where everybody loves everybody else and lives in harmony, with no evil or conflicts. She was an angel of love and hope by vocation, tasked with helping to maintain love and happiness throughout heaven. One day, while going about her way, she tripped and somehow fell to the world below, and happened to land on Yuriba. She hurt her wings in the process, and is no longer able to fly back up to heaven.
Despite this, she strenuously objects to being referred to as a "fallen angel," as the term carries certain theological implications of rebelliousness and sinfulness that do not apply to her.
Yuriba
Angela has had some difficulty adapting to Yuriba. She needs love in much the same way that most mortals need food, but lust is poisonous to her. This makes it somewhat difficult to find regular sources of nourishment. (While she feeds off of love and is sustained by it, she does not consume it; if asked she would say that only demons do that. Those who share their love with her are enriched, not drained, by it.) She often has trouble with figures of speech, and her overly-enthusiastic affection has been known to embarrass others at times.
She responds very positively to any sort of affection or positive attention, especially hugs, which she dispenses liberally at any opportunity. Also, her wings are very sensitive, and gently stroking them brings her a great deal of pleasure. She has been known to glow with a heavenly aura when she's happier than usual, or while using certain angelic powers.
Angela has a handful of supernatural abilities, including the ability to heal physical or emotional wounds, the ability to use her radiant aura to dry off people who are wet, and the power to sense the emotions of others to a limited extent, and to communicate emotions to another person through touch. She also has access to a hammerspace-like storage region where she keeps her robe when she's not wearing it, as well as several other things, including her harp, a supply of manna, and a flaming sword that she's talked about various times but never actually drawn in anyone's presence.
Religion
She believes in Heaven and in God, as defined by the Bible, and she knows it's all true from firsthand experience. She is fond of quoting from the Scriptures as a response to challenging questions. However, she hasn't been observed practicing anything that mortals would recognize as organized religion.
Relationships
- Abryn was the first person who Angela developed a truly close friendship with, and one of the first to demonstrate real love towards her.
- Leona, who she met as one of Abryn's friends, has in recent weeks become much more than simply a friend of a friend.
- Hi-chan, Angela's beloved, a squirrel-girl who Angela has recently become engaged to.
- Kayla, an angelic cat-girl and close friend of both Leona and Hi-chan, who has recently formed a strong bond of love and friendship with Angela as well.
